Saturday (Urgent Only) 9:00am - 11:30am

Surgeries are by appointment only, and appointments are intended for one person only. Please arrive in good time for your appointment. If you arrive late this causes delays in all subsequent appointments.

If you are unable to keep an appointment please inform the receptionist in good time so that the appointment can be offered to someone else.

URGENT CASES

Urgent cases will be seen on the same day but please be prepared to give details to the receptionist so that the degree of urgency can be established.

For those with WORK COMMITMENTS appointments up to 5:50pm can be made by specific individual arrangement.

Please advise reception staff of any CHANGE IN PERSONAL DETAILS OR ADDRESS.

HOME VISITS

Visits are only for patients who are too ill to attend the medical centre. Please telephone before 10:30am where possible. Emergency calls are dealt with immediately.

TELEPHONE ADVICE

After morning surgery (11:20am - 11:40am) or by arrangement with the receptionist.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

Repeat prescriptions should be requested at least 24 hours in advance and will be available after 12:15pm on the following day. Written requests using the printed slip accompanying the computer generated prescriptions are preferred.

Everyone on regular medication should attend for a check up at least once per year.

NEW PATIENTS

New patients are invited to attend the Practice Nurse for a health check up.

TEST RESULTS

Please telephone between 2:30pm and 5:30pm. The receptionists will be able to give out some results but will sometimes ask you to contact the doctor.

COMPLAINTS

The Medical Centre operates an in-house complaints procedure. If you have any complaints, suggestions or comments, please contact The Medical Centre Manager or one of the doctors.

DISABLED ACCESS

Disabled parking spaces are adjacent to the entrance. The building has been designed with the needs of disabled people in mind.

Family Planning

Ante-Natal/Postnatal Care

In conjunction with the Community Midwife and Health Visitor on Wednesday mornings.

Child Health

Clinics held on Wednesday mornings with the Health Visitor for developmental checks and immunisation.

Health Promotion

 By the Practice Nurse, including advice on smoking cessation, weight loss, lifestyle issues and general health checks.

Well Woman Clinic

Including cervical smears and breast examination.

Minor Surgery

Including warts, veruccae, skin tags, moles, in-growing toe nails and joint injections on Friday morning minor surgery lists.

Care of the Eldery

We recommend that patients over 75 should attend for an annual health check. Those unable to attend the surgery will be seen at home by a member of the Practice Team.

THE PRACTICE TEAM

Reception Staff

Mrs Eileen Hinfey, Mrs Margaret Mc Neill, Mrs Sharon Davidson and Miss Jennifer Henry are the reception staff responsible for the administration and running of the practice.

Mrs Yvonne Burrows is the Medical Centre Manager

Practice Nurse

Mrs Siobhan Mc Kee works with the doctors to provide diabetic, heart disease and airways disease clinics, along with Well Woman and health promotion services.

Treatment Room

Mrs Tara Agnew and Mrs Esther Warwick are the Treatment Room nurses, attending to varied tasks including dressings, taking of blood samples, giving immunisations and assisting with cervical smears and minor surgery.

District Nurses, Health Visitors and District Mid-Wives

District Nurses, Health Visitors and District Mid-Wives work in teams, providing nursing care, ante-natal and post-natal care, health promotion and child development surveillance at both patients’ homes and in the Medical Centre.
